Zest for Life

Zest for Life Rose Initiative

Zest for Life RoseA new rose specially named to celebrate a life and to raise funds for young people in Kenya. This beautiful orange blended floribunda rose grows to around 11/2 feet and has a wonderful fragrance.

Since launching the rose at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in July 2006 a total of £2200 has been raised from rose sales and a raffle of first year rose plants.  This year, 2008, we aim to sell even more roses by enabling direct purchase from May to September from a local supplier and at school events.

The idea of naming a rose as a fundraising tool and enlisting the support of World of Roses has been developed by the parents of Ross Jones, a former student of Thomas Adams School.  Ross was tragically killed in a road traffic accident in January 2005.

The name of the rose sums up Ross and his short life and has connotations of hope and the fulfilment of potential that we wish for students both here and in Kenya.

Potted roses cost £12.95
Each rose purchased locally generates £5 for the Miriu Fund.
Matching greetings cards are available for an extra £1
