The exciting initiative to re-open Wem Town Hall as a centre for community, arts, learning and enterprise is now well underway and has generated widespread support from local people and businesses, as well as from the Town, District and County Councils.
The proposal is centred on a strong partnership between the Wem Town Hall Community Trust and Thomas Adams School, and we are now looking to recruit several new trustees to join the Trust’s management board at this critical phase of driving the project forward.
As a trustee, you will be instrumental in helping to shape the vision for a vibrant town centre venue, establishing an invigorating and high quality programme that will both revitalise Wem town centre and improve services for people living in and visiting the area.
We intend to establish a board that reflects the diversity of our local community and as such we welcome applications from all sections of the community. We are particularly keen to involve people who have a background in business, in IT, or in community enterprise, since these areas are under-represented by the current board members, but whatever your background, if you are interested, we would like to hear from you.
If you would like to become a trustee or would like to know more about what’s involved, please send a letter as an initial expression of interest to: Sue Yates, Secretary for Wem Town Hall Community Trust, 8 Market Street, Wem, SY4 5EA.
