Olympic Days - 2/3 July
Posted on: Tuesday, June 12 2012
The Physical Education Department at Thomas Adams School will be holding their “Olympic Days” on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd July 2012.
On Tuesday 3rd July, the Year 7 to 12 curriculum will be collapsed and all students will be participating in the Olympic Day event (vocational, selected diploma and selected SEN students will be exempt from this expectation).
This day will involve a range of activities (Football, Tag Rugby, Rounders, Netball and Swimming) and a Sports Fair (National and Local sports providers present to make students aware of physical activity opportunities) during the Morning Sessions.
The Afternoon Session will focus on the Athletic Track events allowing students to represent or support their houses and recognise sporting excellence.
It is therefore a requirement for the day that students must arrive to school in their Thomas Adams PE kit:-

Boys White Thomas Adams polo shirt White shorts Blue football socks Trainers |

Girls Blue/White Thomas Adams polo shirt Navy blue shorts/Thomas Adams tracksuit bottoms White socks Trainers |
If participating in the Swimming Gala (Year 7 and 8 only) students are to arrive in their Thomas Adams PE kit, but have with them the appropriate swimming clothing for the Gala. Students will then change back into their Thoams Adams PE kit after the Gala has finished.
(Students participating in the Football or Rugby activities must also bring Shin Pads and Football Boots)
It is recommended that students only bring what they require for the day (monies and sun-screen etc).
The Olympic Day Event will be recorded a variety of media. We have asked Kidz in Sport photographers to attend the event and capture all the highlights. The company (that specialise in school photography) will display the photos taken on their website (www.kidzinsport.co.uk) where parents/carers will have the opportunity to purchase these photos in a variety of formats. These photos will also be on display in the school reception area from Thursday 5th July from 3.40-4.30pm. If you have any concerns with your child’s image being used please contact the school.
Your support and co-operation in this matter would be greatly appreciated to ensure a positive and enjoyable sporting experience is had by all.
