PGL Trip 2011

I am pleased to inform you that your child has a place on the P.G.L. activity trip from 29thMay

to 3rdJune 2011, to Caythorpe Court, near Grantham in Lincolnshire.

The total cost of the trip is £345, as originally estimated.

Once again, we are offering two optional extras:

Pupils are required to have sleeping bags and pillows for use in the dormitories. However, bedding can be provided instead, at a cost of £7 per person. This would save pupils having to have the extra baggage and would perhaps be more comfortable.

The second optional extra is for a trip t-shirt. We provide a trip sweatshirt or hoodie as part of the cost and pupils always make good use of this. However, if pupils would like to purchase a trip t-shirt as well (which can be worn on the journey, instead of the sweatshirt) then this costs £5.

Please indicate if you wish your child to have either or both of these options on the reply form overleaf.

Further details on the trip will follow in the Spring Term 2011. In the meantime, I now request payments for the trip, by means of three post-dated cheques (payable to ‘Thomas Adams trip account’ and with the child’s name, form and ‘PGL’ on the reverse), dated and for the amounts as follows:

£100            24thSeptember 2010

£100            3rdDecember 2010

£95*            4thMarch 2011

* If optional extras are required, this final cheque should be £100, £102 or £107 as applicable (see over).

Alternatively, if preferred, a single cheque for £295 (*or £300, £302 or £307 if optional extras required) can be sent in, dated 24thSeptember 2010.

Please send these payments in to me, with the attached slip

If these arrangements will cause any difficulties, or if you instead wish to spread the costs out between each month from now until March and require an alternative payment plan, please contact me at school as soon as possible on the telephone number below (extension 266).

The deposit is non-refundable and has now been passed for banking. As explained in the first letter, should your child withdraw from the trip at a later date, any instalments paid will only be refunded if another pupil takes his/her place, or if the cancellation is due to a reason covered by the insurance, e.g. medical, in which case we may be able to claim some of the costs back. Please note that in the unlikely event that it is felt that the behaviour of your child in school or on other school trips is such that it would jeopardise the safety of the group and as a result it is necessary for your child to be withdrawn from taking part, all monies paid may be forfeited unless your child’s place on the trip can be filled.

If you require any further information at this stage, please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
