Subject Outline

Business Studies is not offered as a discrete study until Year 10 where it has proved to be a very popular and often oversubscribed GCSE. In Years 7, 8 and 9 business awareness is raised across the curriculum via various subject areas such as Geography, Lifestyle, and Citizenship. During Year 9 information is made available regarding all aspects of Business Studies to help pupils make an informed choice as part of their options advice.

Progression is provided in Year 12 and Year 13 through AS and 'A' level. It would be an advantage to have followed the course at GCSE, but it is not a pre-requisite for studying the subject at this higher level. ICT and Key Skills are integrated at all levels of study.
