About our college

Adams College offers a perfect balance in terms of educational experience: the range of courses of a college, with the personalised learning experience of a more traditional sixth form.

The College comprises an interesting blend of traditional architecture (previously the home of the Wem Grammar School) and modern purpose built accommodation housing student services and the common room along with extensive teaching and learning facilities. Facilities also include purpose built IT facilities and a newly converted library with resources to assist self-directed study.

The academic programme is undertaken by a diverse range of students from Shropshire and around the world – creating a uniquely cosmopolitan atmosphere in the heart of the North Shropshire countryside. Whilst very popular with students who have attended Thomas Adams School, students from around the UK embark upon higher education at Adams College along with international students from a range of countries including Nigeria, China, Germany and Saudi Arabia.

Students services are on hand to offer pastoral support and each student has a personal link mentor with whom regular meetings are held to discuss pastoral matters, academic progress and personal development throughout including careers advice and university application guidance.

With over 300 students at Adams College we are able to offer the close personal involvement of a more traditional sixth form along with a wide variety of courses of a college. We hope that you will choose to join us – we hold open evenings in the Autumn term and are more than happy to arrange personal visits to discuss your requirements at any stage – simply contact one of the team to make an appointment.
